Lot Essay

A notable jeweller from the Art Nouveau movement, Lucien Gautrait is famous for the creation of pieces inspired by plants, animals and insects and in particular for his use of plique-à-jour enamelling which mimics stained glass.
After 1905, Gautrait began designing pieces in the Louis XVI style.
