FURTHER DETAILS
Georges Lenfant opened his workshop in (1872-1945). Born into the trade, Georges Lenfant served various apprenticeships and studied jewellery both in Paris and abroad before returning home and setting up his own business at the beginning of the 20th Century. Eventhough his name is listed in jewellery magazines as early as 1903,he didn’t register his distinctive makers mark until 1909, making this bracelet a very early work of his workshop. The style of this period shines through the use of pearls and diamonds which were highly fashionable at that time, worde in a very delicate, fabric-like design. He worked for Cartier, mainly providing watch chains at the beginning of the 20th century, Van Cleef & Arpels, Sandoz, Hermès, Bulgari, Tiffany & Co, Mellerio, Mauboussin, René Boivin, Fred, Gübelin, amongst others, but also under his own name.
