Easily one of the most iconic designs ever created by Elsa Peretti, the famed designer's mesh jewels are synonymous with easy to wear glamour. Peretti first created these mesh jewels for a Halston runway show in the mid 1970's which caused an instant stir with the fashion cognoscenti. Originally using old machinery which was incorporated to create fine mesh handbags during the Art Deco period, Peretti took the linking and created something both beautiful and wearable for the modern woman. Today the mesh collection is still sold through Tiffany & Co. and the present example is a wonderful example in gold of the designer's mesh necklace which is as relevant as when it was first created over 40 years ago.
