Lot Essay

The present brooch originally came from the collection of Annie Pearson, 1st Viscountess Cowdray (1860-1932). The previous lot (12), was purchased from Chaumet in December 1924, also by the 1st Viscountess Cowdray. It is a complete coincidence to have these two brooches reunited nearly 100 years later, consigned by different vendors, but from the same original collection.
