The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition: fair. Shows normal signs of wear, commensurate with age. With scratches and abrasions throughout gold and silver, severe oxidation stains. Brooch fitted with a single pinstem clipback.
- Emeralds: with typical inclusions, chips and cracks at surface.
- Rubies: with typical inclusions, chips and cracks at surface.
- Diamonds: on average K to L color, SI to I clarity. Colour has been gauged as far as the mounting permits. With chips and cracks at the junction of the table's facets, some diamonds are broken.
