The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is unlined and is on its original stretcher, which is providing good support. There are a few very minor areas of paint shrinkage in some of the darker pigments. The surface impasto has been well preserved and the colours are fresh and vibrant.

Under UV light there appear to be a few areas of minor retouching to frame abrasions, along the upper edge. There are a few other minor areas of retouching to the branches of the central tree and to the young girl's face and dress. However, these are all very minor cosmetic retouchings and are not visible to the naked eye.
