The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is in overall good and stable condition. The surface has been treated with a protective varnish and exhibits some minor soiling. Stable hairline craquelure with associated pinpoint losses is noted scattered throughout. A crease is noted in the upper right quadrant running horizontally. Another three creases are noted in the lower half of the painting, one running vertically on the left figure's cloak, another directly to the right of the virgin in the background, and one on the virgin's left hand running horizontally. Ultraviolet light examination reveals areas of inpainting scattered throughout. No further condition issues are noted. The edges of the canvas have been cut and the work is relined.
