The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to or in elaboration of the catalogue entry:
- the sheet possibly reduced by about 7 mm. in width
- some flattened skinned/abraded paper fibres along the lower sheet edge, which had affected the '750' of the previous numbering. The work has since been renumbered by Pest Control
- the abrasion along the lower sheet edge also slightly affecting the word 'Weston'
- there is a flattened vertical crease through the bench to the right of the figure, with an associated flattened horizontal crease above the bench (mainly visible in a raking light), with some retouching to the printed areas
- some further smaller flattened creases visible in a raking light
- some tiny tears at the upper and lower sheet edge have been reinforced with paper paste
- a thin vertical scuff to the left of the figure
- there are some white accretions on the surface in the upper centre subject of the white background
Otherwise as described. (please email jbaskerville@christies.com for images of this lot)
