The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use.

The top lid still has striped canvas, however the canvas on all the sides have been largely repainted in brown. Exterior exhibit significant marks, dents, and scratches. There are some losses to the canvas, including small perforations, visible wear and tear to the canvas covering the hinges. The lozine trim exhibits dents, scratches and marks. Leather closure straps exhibits cracks and dryness, it has been refixed. Lock appears to have been broken. Hardware exhibits oxidation, rust, dents and scratches.

Interior exhibits marks and stains. The upper top lid appears to have been restored, the ribbon is a later replacement and is torn.
