Sur chaque côté du tambour figure une représentation du . »

“This is one type of Chokwe drums, albeit the aesthetically most appealing one. […] Top and bottom are adorned with a broad band divided into distinctive panels by incised parallel vertical lines. Each panel is filled with incised undulating, chevron, zigzag, lozenge, triangular, fishbone, waffle-shaped or spiral motifs. Showing on each side of the drum is the image of the mask.”
