96,5 x 81,5 x 6 cm).
English
The painting has been subject to quite a strict relining, which may have compressed the paint in places. It is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher. In natural light a restored vertical tear of approx. 35 cm at approx. 9 cm from the right edge can be seen. There is some minor scattered retouching in the model's cope and in the background. The model's face and beard also show some minor retouching (more on the face than the beard). The painting is under a thin varnish. Examination under UV confirms the above-mentioned retouching to the background and costume, as well as a lager zone of retouching to the model's beard and to the left of his face. The varnish has been partially cleaned. In a modern frame (approx. 96.5 x 81.5 x 6 cm).
