L’œuvre a été peinte sur papier marouflé sur une toile moderne. Le châssis est un châssis récent, à clé.
A l’œil nu, on constate des déchirures et des restaurations le long des déchirures (notamment dans le coin supérieur gauche et à droite du personnage).
A la lampe UV, on constate les restaurations le long des déchirures précédemment signalées ainsi que des restaurations le long du bord supérieur. La peinture possède des restaurations réparties à différents endroits de la composition (quelques-unes dans la chevelure, dans les fonds et dans la partie inférieure).
Le tableau est sous un vernis fin uniforme.

The work was painted on paper laid down on a modern canvas. The keyed stretcher is also modern. In natural light a couple of tears with associated restorations can be seen (particularly in the upper left corner and to the right of the figure).Under UV light, restorations can be seen along the aforementioned tears, as well as some retouching along the upper edge. There are some further minor scattered retouchings (some in the hair, in the background and in the lower part of the composition).The painting is under a uniform varnish.
