MARK OF HEINRICH MANNLICH, AUGSBOURG, 1681-1685
On spreading base with slightly wavy rim, the body chased with a depiction of the life of Rebekah and Isaac, the inner liner fixed to the base by a screw, the scrolling handle with bifurcated terminal, the hinged cover with ball finial on foliate terrace, marked on spreading foot, cover and body: town and maker; on underside and foot-rim: assay and later French control mark (ET)

This tankard is typical of Heinrich Mannlich's work with plain silver-gilt mounts to enhance the chased scene on the body.
