Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage. Il est maintenu sous tension et est stable.
A l'oeil nu, le tableau se présente dans un bel état général, avec de jolis effets de ton et des détails délicats.
A l'UV, on constate des retouches le long des bords de la toile, faisant probablement suite à des frottements dus à l'encadrement. On constate d'autres retouches légères ponctuelles, notamment dans la moitié inférieure de la composition.
La matière reste stable.
Dans un cadre en bois et stuc dorés avec un cartouche 'JEAN PILLEMENT / 1728-1808.' (approx. 52 x 67 x 6 cm.).

The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under tension and remains stable.
The painting presents very well in natural light, with the delicate modulation of the colours and the delicacy of execution well preserved.
Examination under UV light reveals some retouching to the very edges of the canvas, likely a result of prior frame abrasion. There is some further very minor scattered retouching, notably in the lower half of the composition.
The paint remains stable.
In a giltwood and golden stucco frame with a cartouche 'JEAN PILLEMENT / 1728-1808.' (approx. 52 x 67 cm.).
