An attribution to Johann Michael Hambach (active between 1672 and 1685) has been suggested for this painting.

A copy of Ingvar Bergström's certificate of authenticity dated 8 March 1985 supporting that the painting is by Sebastian Stoskopff (circa 1597-1657) is provided with the painting.
