A BRONZE FIGURE OF VULCAN, NORTHERN ITALY, VENETIAN, 16TH CENTURY

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York holds a similar example of this rare model of Vulcan (inv. 1979.135.18). Formerly in the J. P. Morgan collection, the bronze is described by the museum as Venetian, dating from the late 16th century, and is stylistically related to the work of Girolamo Campagna (1549–1625).

Le Metropolitan Museum of Art de New York conserve un exemplaire similaire de ce rare modèle de Vulcain (inv. 1979.135.18). Provenant de la collection J. P. Morgan, le musée américain le décrit comme vénitien et datant de la fin du XVIᵉ siècle et le rapproche des œuvres de Girolamo Campagna (1549-1625).
