Le tableau a fait l’objet d’un rentoilage. Il est sur un châssis rapporté, à clefs. Le rentoilage a été correctement réalisé.
Le tableau est dans un bon état général de conservation à l’œil nu et possède une jolie matière, vibrante.
A l’UV, on constate des retouches dans les fonds ainsi que ponctuellement sur le coussin et dans certains motifs pour renforcer les cernes.
Sous un vernis partiellement nettoyé.
Dans un cadre en bois doré, travail moderne, avec un cartouche 'ACHILLE ZO / FRENCH, 1826-1901' (approx. 70 x 107 x 10,5 cm).

The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher.
In natural light the painting shows itself to be in a good general state of conservation, the paint has retained great vibrancy of colour.
Under UV some retouching can be seen in the background, there is some minor punctual retouching on the cushion and some strengthening to some of the motifs in the carpet. Under a partially cleaned varnish.
In a giltwood frame, modern work, with a cartouche ‘ACHILLE ZO / FRENCH, 1826-1901’ (approx. 70 x 107 x 10.5 cm).
