The current name of these birds is the White-tailed Tropicbird (or Yellow-Billed Tropicbird). Audubon painted this subject, "sometime after 1833, after he received specimens from his friend, Robert Day, who had taken Audubon on his boat to Florida in the spring of 1832" (Low, p.144).
