“I loved Rosie. She knew how to get through the day.” – Maurice Sendak (Wild Things Are Happening, p. 80)
Present are five studies of the character Rosie with her cat Buttermilk. Sendak first began working on the musical Really Rosie with his collaborator Carole King in the early 70s. The musical debuted as an animated television special aired on CBS. It was later transformed for the stage and ran Off-Broadway in 1980 and recently in 2017.
