Restored chipping to hat brim and hat feather restored. Restoration and slight chipping to yellow bow at her left elbow. Further restoration to pegs of hurdy gurdy and to raised bridge section. Her right ankle broken through and restored. Further chipping, small losses and restoration to applied leaves and flowers. Minute chipping to sleeve, apron and skirt hems. Minor wear to gilding and enamels, occasional minute surface abrasion.
Mezzetin with restoration to his hands and to the lower pipe of the bagpipes (a section possibly replaced). Mouth pipe restored and some stained glaze cracks to the bag itself. Restoration to puce rosette at his left knee. Minor chipping, small losses and restoration to applied leaves and flowers. Minor wear to gilding and enamels and occasional minor surface abrasion.
An XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) test was carried out by The Centre for Archaeological and Forensic Analysis at Cranfield University on Mezzetin, confirming that the enamels on this object is consistent with the published data for enamels on other Meissen porcelain dating to the 18th century.
