The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Oil on panel. Not examined out of the frame. Each corner with an artist’s pinhole. On close examination, some fine craquelure and mild paint separation in the green and dark brown pigments. A fine line of abrasion to the paint surface across the centre of the work. Some small spots of paint loss: one to the lower left of the tree and another in the tree on the right-hand side. When examined under UV light, there is a thick layer of varnish and there are no visible signs of fluorescence.
