The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are two minor impact marks, near the centre of the upper horizontal edge with associated pinpoint paint losses and to the lower left corner with associated linear marks. There are pinpoint paint losses in places across the composition, predominantly in the brown margin along the edges. There are some watermarks in the lower left quadrant, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. There are some scattered pinpoint accretions. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
