The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing to the lower left corner. There are two pinpoint paint losses to the right of the upper horizontal extreme edge. There is a pattern of fine cracks to the thicker impasto in the centre of the composition with some associated pinpoint paint losses. There is a fine layer of surface dust to the impasto peaks in the centre of the composition. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
