- the full sheet, folded vertically and horizontally four times, as issued, the folds flattened
- a 16 mm. tear at upper right at the upper right sheet edge in the blank paper, associated to one of the folds
- a 4 mm. nick at the upper right sheet edge
- the sheet slightly toned, with slightly irregular light- and time staining, mainly visible at upper left
- a few unobtrusive scattered foxmarks, mainly in the lower margin and on the reverse
- remains of two old paper hinges at the upper sheet edge verso
- inscribed in pencil on the reverse 'Edward MUNCH/ Ibsen m. [mit] Leuditturen Lithographie/ sign. im Stein'
