The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Gouache and watercolour on thick wove paper. Hinged to the mount at the reverse upper sheet corners. The left sheet edge slightly uneven. The artist's pinholes at all four corners. The lower and upper-right sheet corners stubbed. The lower-left sheet corner with two flattened creases. A flattened horizontal crease (approx. 4 cm. long) in the red flower pot, only visible on the reverse. A few foxmarks, mostly visible in the lower right quadrant. A few light lines of surface abrasion in places, the most visible one to the right of the flower. A small spot of skinning towards the upper-right corner with possible associated retouching. The reverse sheet edges with old mounting tape remnants. The pigments are strong and fresh throughout. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally good condition.
