拍品专文

With its eight legs and attenuated sides, this graceful daybed is closely related to the chaise longue delivered to Madame Récamier at rue de la Chausée-d'Antin by Jacob Frères in 1798, see D. Ladoux-Lebard, Le Mobilier Drançais du XIXe Siècle, Paris, 1984, p. 300, fig. A. The use of gilt wood in lieu of ormolu mounts suggests that this daybed was produced in a region of the Italian peninsula where Austrian influence in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries was particularly strong, such as Tuscany or Lombardy.
