Lot Essay

Titan/Centaur-4, to be used to place the first of two Viking spacecraft on trajectories for Mars in August, was rolled from the Solid Motor Assembly Building to Launch Complex 41 at the Titan III Complex today. The spacecraft and payload fairing which will protect it during its flight through the atmosphere will be mated with the launch vehicle in late July, bringing the total height of the space vehicle to 160 feet.
