The painting is supported on the reverse with a glue lining. The paint layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has yellowed with age. There is an overall uneven network of craquelure. Under natural light, scattered areas of retouching are visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms lines of stregthening and retouching to minimize the appearance of craquelure, although an opaque varnish impedes further inspection. The work should be hung in its present state. The work is offered with a carved giltwood frame.
