The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The oval copper panel has a very slight concave warp, but maintains a solid support for the picture. The picture surface is dirty and has an aged, discoloured varnish. On close inspection and in natural light a few minor spots of retouching are visible to the flesh tones and drapery; this is confirmed under UV examination. There is a minor imperfection to her lip, as visible in the illustration. However much of the original brushwork and impasto are very well preserved and the picture is in very condition overall.
