This small single piece panel is cradled and held under tension. An uneven craquelure is visible in raking light, with minor scuffing around the edges associated with frame wear. Ultraviolet examination reveals some infilling in the craquelure, particularly in the centre of the composition, with some restoration along the edges, and in the upper left, along the left side and the right, with scattered historic retouching in the carpet. The artist’s painterly technique remains appreciable.
