The painting appears to have undergone conservation in the recent past and presents very well. The canvas has a modern glue lining which is firm on its stretcher and the paint surface is stable (if perhaps a little pressed in the relining process) and clean beneath a clear varnish.

Inspection under UV reveals a restored hole in the upper right side of the headdress of approx. 1 in., restoration to losses along the lateral edges and a restored horizontal tear of approx. 3 in. on the upper edge at left. There is finely applied retouching to very minor losses scattered through the flesh tones, drapery and background and some strengthening to the landscape upper left.

The painting requires no further work and is ready to hang in its present state. Offered in an elaborately carved gilt wood frame.
