The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- some old repaired paper splits in places, with associated thin spots: mainly in the blank area and into the wing at upper right; on the skirt of the lady at centre-left and lower-left; on the lower right edge of the shield at lower centre; all thinly supported.
- the sheet slightly cockled in the repaired areas.
- some thin spots, with minor repairs at the four corners.
- three pinholes at centre (one on the helmet and two on the staff).
- a tiny adhesive stain on the right side of skull.
- a few tiny pinpoint foxmarks in places.
- small remains of old glue in places verso.
- the mark Lugt 555c barely visible after restoration.
