The painting is supported on the reverse by a glue lining. The paint layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has yellowed with age. Under natural light, scattered areas of retouching are evident, including a diagonal line approximately 9 1/2 inches long at left of center, to an area of the sky above Saint Ursula's head and to the upper right edge. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned repairs. The painting should be hung in its present state. The work is offered in a carved gilt wood frame.
