The canvas has had a hard wax lining treatment. Discoloured retouching along the edges of the canvas, no doubt associated to historic frame abrasion, is visible to the naked eye. Examination under ultra violet light reveals several repaired damages in the sky with associated retouching, along with some scattered strengthening to the darker tones in the landscape.
