The sheet is hinged at the upper corners to the backing board and undulates slightly. The vertical edges of the sheet are deckled, and a pinhole is to the center upper edge, presumably a vestige of the artist's working process. Small, soft creases are to the lower right corner and center right edge, and a few faint abrasions are to the upper left quadrant. Minute hairline cracking, some with minor associated lifting and pinpoint losses, are visible occasionally, predominately to the black passages in areas of heavier applications of paint. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
