Lot Essay

The thick-walled cong is of rounded square shape and carved at the corners with two stacked face-like motifs, the upper masks with two narrow bands carved with parallel lines above a pair of circular eyes and a raised horizontal band suggesting a mouth, and the lower masks with a slightly raised band connecting two large oval eyes incised with concentric lines around a circular center, above a further horizontal 'mouth'. The olive-green stone has brown an buff markings.
