Although the grand multiple-arc bridge in Bourke-White's image was the largest ever attempted in the country, the Russians destroyed it completely in anticipation of the Germans advancement in the summer of 1941.

Neutral hued image on semi-gloss paper with very thin black margins mounted on original board. Extremely minor flaking to corners, visible under close inspection. One minor, small retouching mark in the lower left corner (approx. .5 cm.), and small very light, abrasions in the lower right, and upper left corners (each approx. 1-2 cm.), all visible in raking light only. Minor abrasions to the mount, consistent with age and not affecting image. Overall in excellent condition. Please note this work is sold framed.
