The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

No restorations detected. Three very fine hairline cracks all from the time of firing—one to the inside of the spout, the second to the center body of the owl in a black feather, and the third to the join of the base with the body, only visible from the inside of the vase. There are two tiny, barely noticeable chips to the raised upper edge of the long black feather on the left side of the owl’s body. Light wear to the rim of the underside, with remnants of an old adhesive label. A very well-kept, early example from this edition.
