The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are minor undulations with associated lifting in places to the tape areas, presumably due to the artist's working method. There are very fine hairline drying cracks in the red and black passages to the lower centre of the composition. These appear to be attributable to the natural drying process of the artist's materials. There are some small areas in the painted parts of the composition where the paint appears to have been disturbed, as evident in the online illustration, presumably due to the artist's technique. There are spots of paint loss to the impasto areas presumably due to previous handling. There is a superficial layer of dust across the surface of the work with pinpoint spots of residual wrapping material in areas. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work is in good condition.
