The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are tension cracks in places to the extreme edges. There are some hairline cracks in places visible under strong raking light. There are a few faint handling marks to the edges and few pinpoint accretions in places. There are a few faint superficial hairline abrasions in places, predominantly to the black passages. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
