The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. The upper right horizontal stretcher bar is uneven. There are minor drying cracks to the yellow impasto passage to the upper left quadrant and one hairline drying crack to the grey impasto area to the centre right of the composition. There are a few minute tension cracks to the extreme right vertical edge. There is a pinpoint accretion to the white and grey impasto to the centre right of the composition. When examined under ultraviolet there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
