drypoint with traces of pen and ink, 1914, on laid Arches paper, signed and titled in pencil, inscribedf 1. Probedruck, the first trial proof, with the contour of a raised knee at right and other touches added in pen and ink, a very fine impression of the first state (of two), printed with much burr and a rich and varied plate tone, one of a very small number of lifetime impressions

In his census, Petermann records the present impression of the first state only, and two posthumous impressions of the second state, with the estate stamp or the signature of the artist's widow Anita Lehmbruck.
