The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- several retouched repairs in the background and margins, including: an elliptical tear (circa 25 cm.) upper left; several short tears in the upper margin, one extending into the centre subject (circa 3 cm.); a few small surface abrasions upper right and left; and a long surface abrasion in the right margin extending into the lower subject.
- the upper right sheet corner re-attached.
- some minor paper losses at the upper sheet edge.
- pencil markings at the corners in the margins.
