In the Louis XV style, the button tufted upholstered back, arms and drop-in seat covered in red silk damask, the shaped channeled frame carved with floral sprays and crested by flowerheads, issuing a pierced scrolling arm support, on a shaped seat-rail centered by flowerheads, on short cabriole legs on scrolling feet, inscribed in pencil 'Ed de Rothschild', with label on underside inscribed in pen 'Mr E de Rothschild', probably reduced in length from a chaise longue
