These species of theropod Dinosaurs are known only by the traces they left in the mud, that have subsequently been turned to stone. It is by reading such tracks that scientists are able to piece together clues about the lives of these long lost taxa.

Grallator trace fossils are indentifiable by their distinctive three-toed tracks with a longer central toe. These dinosaurs were originally considered to have lived in packs, but based on mapping analysis carried out in 2012 of over 700 tracks, a behaviour of shoreline-parelleling is prefered.
