The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall in good decorative condition. With typical scattered light nicks, faint marks and scratches. The calamander veneer with some cracking and bubbling, primarily to the lower edge of the box. The veneer to the interior and underside of writing surface stippling and lifting, not visible when placed. The upper section of interior fall front desk no longer attached to hinges. The hinges and gilt-metal mounts with typical rubbing, oxidation and tarnish. One panel to the back of the interior compartment of desk off. The velvet lining probably a later replacement, with scattered scratches, surface wear and some dryness, consistent with age. The sander on the right does not close completely. The jasper plaques with light scattered surface wear, with some darkening and slight surface dirt, and minute wear around the exposed edges in the gilt-metal frames, not extensive. The center right jasper plaque cracked down the center. The the central leftmost jasper plaque with a very small crack. No keys.
