Half-title, no text-illustrations, but blank spaces indicating their position and noted with numeration and size, e.g. 'Fig 2.6 ½ page' (blank verso of final leaf unevenly stained). Publisher's printed grey wrappers (upper cover with one small red mark and lower corner creased, extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance: Judy Fella (Hawking's first secretary and later PA and nursing co-ordinator: Fella worked with Hawking on the first draft of A Brief History of Time).
