The sheet is hinged along the edges to the backing board and undulates slightly. Surface variation, including tiny nicks, skinning, and tears, are to the edges and collage elements, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method and choice of medium. Only visible under ultraviolet light, two pinpoint accretions are to the figure’s chin. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
