The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in condition to this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
-The screen has been reduced in height, and the lower boarders has been relacquered, and the screen has been recut to accommodate the aprons.
-expected areas of restoration and overpainting, expected touch-up to the sides
-age cracks and small flakes to the lacquer, expected small losses throughout
-hinges are probably later replacement
-some characters on the inscriptions have been rubbed or recarved
-some expected losses to the pigment and gilt decoration
