Rectangular, the sides, cover, and underside enameled with rectangular plaques of pastoral scenes painted in purple and cornflower blue en camaïeu on an opalescent oyster-pink ground, with borders of blue banding and green foliage with opalescent enamel pearls, the first cover opening to reveal a mirror and two compartments, one for glue with a conformingly decorated cover, the other open with a gold handled brush with a loop, the second cover opening to reveal a second mirror and shallow compartment for patches, marked behind mirror underneath first cover with charge mark, date letter T, and maker's mark, further marked on the flange of first cover with décharge mark for 1789-1792 and additional mark, unidentified, later struck twice with the petite garantie post 1847, the internal compartment cover later marked with the petite garantie 1809-1819, flange of second cover numbered 307 and with décharge mark, the brush later marked with the petite garantie for Paris 1798-1809 and petite garantie post 1847
